Join us for Summer Strings!
Summer Strings is a unique day camp combining study of classical string orchestra, traditional fiddle music, and regular old camp fun.
Students should have experience playing and reading music on violin, viola, cello or bass.
Open to students currently in 2nd to 10th grades.
Orchestras at four playing levels rehearse and perform music from beginning to advanced levels. Fiddle classes learn traditional tunes from a variety of cultures by ear, often adding improvisation, singing, harmonies, choreography and unique arrangements.
Daily performances include the Summer Strings faculty orchestra, guest fiddle artists, and student fiddle and orchestra concerts.
Daily activities include Music Jeopardy, soccer, kickball, spud, water games, frisbee, and indoor games.
Summer Nights
Held Tuesday evenings in July and August Summer Nights give string students a chance to play popular music, including Broadway favorites, movie theme songs, current tunes, & some popular classical pieces in an orchestra setting.
Cancellation and schedule change fees:
A $30/camp non refundable deposit required at the time of registration.
Deposits will be applied to Summer Strings tuition
If you need to cancel your registration Stringendo can refund whatever has been
paid to date – less the non-refundable deposit.
Any scheduling changes/transfers/swaps after June 10 are subject to a $30/change administrative fee to cover the cost of processing these changes.
Extended Day Program Available:
Early drop off: 7:30-8:30 @ $10/session
Late pick-up: 4:15- 6:00 @ $10/session
This camp is not regulated or inspected by the New York State Department of Health and is not required to obtain a Department of Health permit. This camp is not required to follow Department of Health regulations, including, maintaining minimum staff-to-child ratios; hiring medical personnel; or reporting injuries or illnesses to the Department of Health.
