I graduated from Stringendo in 2004 and my experiences in the orchestra and with the fantastic faculty were responsible for so many positive parts of my high school and now adult life. The sense of community that was created within the Stringendo orchestras was unparalleled. Furthermore, the musical integrity that was expected of Stringendo students established for me a standard of excellence and a concept of the types of achievements that average string players can achieve through intense study with knowledgeable teachers. The opportunities I was awarded as a part of this organization were momentous, and the professional relationships I maintained from my time there have unparalleled sincerity and depth.
Stringendo is more than a Saturday orchestra class. It is a community and a family. Even though I’ve been away from Stringendo for a few years now, it is definitely something that has positively influenced my teaching. I am excited to pass on my experience from Stringendo to my students in Virginia. I truly believe I am a better person and teacher because of the Stringendo program and the teachers who dedicate their lives to their students. It will always have a very special place in my heart.
