Summer Strings is a unique day camp combining the study of classical string orchestra music, traditional fiddle music, and regular old camp fun.
Students should have experience playing and reading music on violin, viola, cello or bass.
Open to students currently in 2nd to 10th grades.
Orchestra classes rehearse and perform music from beginning to advanced levels. Fiddle classes learn traditional tunes from a variety of cultures by ear, often adding improvisation, singing, harmonies, choreography and unique arrangements.
Daily performances include the Summer Strings faculty orchestra, guest fiddle artists, and student fiddle and orchestra concerts.
Daily activities include Music Jeopardy, soccer, kickball, spud, water games, frisbee, and indoor games.
